Coordination committee for sexual orientation and gender identity in the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region (Koordinierungskreis SOGI)

The Office of Equality and Diversity is a member of the coordination committee for sexual orientation and gender identity in the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region (Koordinierungskreis SOGI). SOGI stands for sexual orientation and gender identity. Since 2014, stakeholders from administration, education and civil society have been involved in the coordination committee, including representatives of Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, the gay-lesbian center “Fliederlich” and municipal equal opportunities officers. The coordination committee advocates recognition of diversity in gender and sexual orientation and stands up against discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity.

at the Institut für Pädagogik und Schulpsychologie Nürnberg (Institute for Education and School Psychology Nuremberg, IPSN)

The Office of Equality and Diversity is a member of the AK LSBTI*. In this working group, experts from schools and advisory services share their experiences of the situation for non-heterosexual school pupils, teachers, other members of staff and parents and offer services aimed at positively reinforcing them, for example training courses.

Students’ Representatives’ Queer Working Group

The Queer Working Group provides students with space to share experiences, network, obtain advice and participate in joint activities. Anyone with questions on any aspect of topics relating to LGBTIAQ*(lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual, transgender, transident, intersexual, asexual, agender, genderqueer, questioning), or who would like to explore the area in more detail, are very welcome to contact the Queer Working Group.

The Queer Working Group currently meets in the General Student Committee’s building in Turnstraße 7 in Erlangen. The exact dates for the meetings are available on the Queer Working Group’s website.
